  • To help us better prepare for your photo session, please fill out the following questionnaire:

    • Choose outfits that complement each other and the location you are planning to shoot at. Having trouble deciding? Send us or bring your options and we can help you.

    • Choose clothes that allow you to be comfortable and able to move in. The stiffer the material = the less you’ll be able to move = the less comfortable you’ll feel in your photos.

    • Iron your clothes of any big wrinkles!

    • If you have any inspiration or poses you would like to do, feel free to share it with us prior to the session.

    • On the day of the photoshoot:

      • Arrive early enough to your session to give you time to do any last minute touch ups/preparations.

      • For families with kids under the age of 2, have them take a nap before the shoot so that they are in a good mood. Also, bring any props that they love to help get their attention and snacks for when they get hungry. It’s okay to take a quick break to feed them during the shoot! You can also have a “treat” for them for after the session so they have something to look forward to :) *Note: The same applies for any pets!

      • Don’t worry about posing, we’ll be there to help guide and help you. Expect us to give you prompts so that it’ll help us capture those awesome candids.

      • Relax and just have fun! Think of it as a normal day out.

  • We’ve done many photoshoots over the years so we want to share with you some tips on what to wear for your session. Keep in mind that these are just guidelines and suggestions and do not have to be followed completely. At the end of the day, we want you to be YOU. We want you to wear whatever makes you feel most like yourself.

Visit our Photography Color Inspiration Board to help you guide your dream photo session!

    • Color Choices

      • We recommend colors that are:

    • Neutrals - black, white, beige, taupe, gray, cream and brown

    • Note that there are also neutrals for every color

    • Examples:

      • Instead of wearing green, go for a soft forest or olive green

      • Instead of wearing red, go with a deep maroon

      • Instead of yellow, go for a mustard yellow

      • Instead of bright pink, go for a dreamy pink

      • Instead of blue, go for a light blue or navy

    • Earthy Tones

      • Because Hawai’i is filled with earthy natural settings, earthy tones will help to complement.

    • Choose colors that are complimentary to your skin tone and location. Unless you have an olive skin tone or a darker skin tone, stay away from reds, oranges, and pinks. The reason being is that these colors can reflect onto each other and intensify onto your skin, which makes it tough for us to edit your skin tones.

    • Stay away from bright fluorescent colors

      • Examples: red, yellow, neon green, etc.

      • These colors can end up being more of a distraction to your photos.

    • Color Matching

      • The purpose of choosing the right color is to match your location. We never want your outfits to be the main focus (unless we’re shooting fashion) but instead want YOU to be the main focus. We want your outfits to compliment your location and not be a distraction.

    • Shapes + Textures

      • Simplicity in your outfit is recommended.

      • If you are planning to have patterns on your outfit, be simple, small and subtle with it. Big chunky and loud patterns can be distracting to a photo.

    • Props + Accessories

      • Props are always a bonus! Be creative. Set a picnic, bring flowers, etc.

      • Accessories like jewelry, hats, sunglasses, etc. are always welcomed as well!

Reminder: These aren’t a set of rules but just a bunch of guidelines that can help to make a better photo. At the end of the day, we want your photos to best represent you and who you are.

  • How many photos are included in our session?

Each session can vary but we believe in quality AND quantity. We normally deliver at least 100-200 photos for an hour session.

How will our photos be delivered?

Your photos will be delivered via an online gallery. In this online gallery, there will be two downloadable folders, one for printing and one for web. There will also be a photo release form for any printing purposes. We will also deliver a link to a mobile app, where you will be able to create an app of the gallery onto your mobile device or tablets.

    Can our session be rescheduled?

Sessions can be rescheduled if given at least a 24 hour notice. Cancellations due to weather are also okay.

What if I’m late to my session?

Plan ahead for any errands/traffic. If you are 15 minutes late to your session, it will be a part of your scheduled time session.

    Can we bring props?

Props are always welcome and a plus!

Can we bring multiple outfits to wear?

Yes! Multiple outfits are always welcome.

How many people can we bring to our family session?

You can bring up to 12 people for a 1 hour session. Just keep in mind, the more groups of people you have (for example with multiple families), the less time you’ll have with each group. If you have more than 12 people, it will be $600 for our larger family sessions.

When is the best time to take newborn photos?

The recommended time is within the first two weeks of when your baby is born. At this time, the baby loves to sleep so you will be able to have more freedom to use your props.

What time of day is best for taking photos?

Soft light is always preferred, which is usually at sunrise or sunset (times vary per season). If you are shooting in a very shaded area, during the day is fine.

Can you photoshop something out or make me skinnier?

Trust us, we get this question all the time lol! We believe in true authenticity so we will only photoshop something if it makes sense. However, if you really would like something photoshopped or edited out, please inquire with us and let us know ahead of time.

I don’t know how to pose, will you help me?

Of course, we are there to help guide you throughout the entire photoshoot.

What type of payments do you accept?

    Cash, check or Venmo

How long will my gallery be available for?

We will be able to host and keep your gallery open for 1 year. After receiving your gallery, we recommend for you to download all photos and back them up via your personal computer/cloud.

What is the print release for?

If you are planning on printing any photos, some printing spots will ask for a print release form for any professional photography. Show them this release form and they will be able to go forward with your printing.
